Rare Tintin cartoon watercolour sold for over €600,000 at Paris auction – 3 May 2018

The illustration, in Hergé (Georges Remi)’s typical clean line style, shows Tintin fleeing from the kingdom of Borduria to safety through the Balkans into the fictional state of Syldavia, clutching a loaf of bread and a bottle of red wine, accompanied by Milou (Snowy). Sold at Christie’s, 9 Avenue Matignon, Paris for €607,500 (Lot 105).
