- “Thanks so much. The girls loved every second!!”
- “The 3 boys came back inspired. J spent the next 2 days recreating graffiti works… on paper. We’ve banned bedroom walls!”
- “The art camp was fantastic. I was amazed when S asked to be taken to an art gallery. I’m very impressed with your programme… Thank you”
Session 1: Learn to draw – Harry Potter themed
Learn to Draw – Harry Potter themed – Children learned how to produce an observational drawing of a Harry Potter character using different sketching pencils to create shade, light and tone
Session 2: Valentines Day Pop Art Style
Valentine’s Day Pop Art Style – we learned about American Pop Art and Jim Dine (b 1935), famous for his heart paintings, and made a Valentine picture
van Gogh in Clay – we made a clay tablet and carved it with a van Gogh inspired image – the children mostly selected his self-portraits – drawing on his vivid colours, rough brush work, and encouraging the distortion of form to convey meaning
Session 4/4a: Street Art!
Street Art – we learned about elusive street painter Banksy and created an artwork in his style of a ‘view through a hole’: which can create bold, surprising and sometimes amusing, but often ironical, imagery. Here is a small selection – spot Banksy’s!
