October Half Term Programme 2017


Session 1: Monday 23rd October (morning) – Autumn

Monday 23rd October (morning):  We will learn about the art of Georgia O’Keeffe, one of America’s foremost painters, and paint our own autumn scene with blended colours.

Session 2A: Tuesday 24th October (morning) – Observational drawing in the Animal world!

Tuesday 24th October (morning):  Observational drawing in the Animal World!  We will finely observe animal features and create an artwork based around them


Session 2B: Tuesday 24th October (afternoon) – Dali

Tuesday 24th October (afternoon):  Spanish born Salvador Dali was a leading light of the Surrealist movement – the session will link with The Royal Academy’s new exhibition showcasing the work of Dali and Duchamp link here


Session 3A: Wednesday 25th October (morning) – Pop Art Penguins!

Wednesday 24th August (morning):  We will learn about these flightless swimming birds and create our own Pop Art penguin artwork

Session 3B: Wednesday 25th October (afternoon) – Post Impressionist Elephants!

Wednesday 25th October (afternoon):  We will learn about Post Impressionism and also about elephants, and put it all together in a piece of artwork!


Session 4A: Thursday 26th October (morning) – KidsArt! Halloween Picasso style

Thursday 26th October (morning):  We will learn about Picasso and also about the history of Halloween and create a Picasso style scary Halloween picture!


Session 4B: Thursday 26th October (afternoon) – Pop Art Halloween!

Thursday 26th October (afternoon):  We will learn about contemporary Brazilian Pop Artist, Romero Britto, and create a Halloween artwork in his style


Age:  suitable for children aged 5-13

Time:  morning sessions: 10.00 am – 1.00 pm / afternoon sessions: 2.00 am – 5.00 pm.    Lunchtime supervision provided for those attending morning and afternoon sessions on the same day (Sessions 2A/B, 3A/B, 4A/B) – please bring a nut-free packed lunch

Place:  all sessions at the KidsArtStudio

Cost:  £35 per session per child payable on booking

What’s included:  Art tuition, materials and snacks.  (Lunch not included on full day bookings – children should bring a packed lunch nut-free, please.)

Consent:  Booking implies consent to use of your child’s photo and art work on the KidsArt!  website and facebook page unless (in the case of your child’s photo) you stipulate otherwise when booking

Cancellation policy:  We are unable to refund but you may send another child not already booked in your child’s place
