Session 1: Tuesday, 23 July – Picasso Cockerels

Tuesday, 23 July:  “Every child is an artist. The problem is to remain an artist once they grow up” Pablo Picasso, greatest Modern artist – create a picture of a Picasso-style cockerel 


Session 2: Wednesday, 24 July – Robots!

Tonal robots!Wednesday, 24 July:   Leonardo da Vinci invented the first Robot!  How to draw a Robot, value and tone in art, colour-mixing – paint a fab Robot and learn about art history’s greatest inventor!  Links with The Royal Collection Trust’s landmark exhibition Leonardo Da Vinci “A Life in Drawing” – link here


Session 3: Tuesday, 30 July – National Gallery Sketchbook tour – Mythology!

Sketching at Saatchi GalleryTuesday, 30 July:  Day trip to National Gallery with sketchbooks – learn about some of the Gallery’s greatest paintings, the mythological stories behind them, and sketch!


Session 4: Friday, 26 July – Pop Art Penguins – Clay!

Friday, 26 July:  Pop Art Penguins – Pop Art Movement, patterns and colours, clay modelling: how to harness the colour wheel to super-bright effect – create and paint a funky Penguin!

 

 

Session 5: Thursday, 8 August – National Gallery tour – Mighty Masters!

Thursday, 8 August:  Day trip to National Gallery with sketchbooks – learn about some of the Gallery’s greatest artists, the stories behind their paintings, and sketch!


Session 6: Wednesday, 14 August – Mexican Art – Kahlo-inspired Cacti!

Wednesday, 14 August:   Freda Kahlo, feminist icon and Mexico’s foremost painter,  subject of last year’s blockbuster V&A exhibition, known for her love of zingy colours and patterns – paint Cacti, Kahlo-style!


Session 7: Thursday, 15 August – Mona Lisa in Clay

Thursday, 15 August:  Mona Lisa, the world’s most enigmatic and mysterious painting – create a clay version, and learn about inventor and reluctant artist, Leonardo da Vinci – links with The Royal Collection Trust’s landmark exhibition Leonardo Da Vinci “A Life in Drawing” – link here

Session 8: Friday, 16 August – Monet’s Lake in Clay

Friday, 16 August:  Claude Monet, Father of  Impressionism, painted his beloved lake and waterlilies over 250 times!  Use clay to create Monet’s Lake! 


Age:  studio programmes: suitable for children aged 4 – 12.  National Gallery tour: ages 5 – 12 

Time:  studio programmes: 10.00am – 1.00pm.  National Gallery tour: 10.30am – 4.00pm

Place:  KidsArt!  Swiss Cottage  Day trip to National Gallery depart from and return to KidsArt!  Finchley Studio  (or meet us there at 11.30am) 

Cost (per child):  studio programmes: £40 per session.  National Gallery tour: £55 per tour 

What’s included:  Art tuition, materials and snacks. (No spray paints are used)

Who’s teaching:  Experienced KidsArt! tutors

National Gallery tour:  Children require packed lunch and snacks.  KidsArt! provide sketchbooks and art materials.  We travel to and from the Gallery by train if you meet at KidsArt! Finchley Studio 

Consent:  Booking implies consent to use of your child’s art work on the KidsArt!  website and facebook page

Cancellation policy:  We are unable to refund but you may send another child not already booked in your child’s place
