Chagall’s lithographs for Four Tales from the Arabian Nights

The set of twelve lithographs are being auctioned by Christie’s Online with bidding open until 14 May 2020.
Each lithograph illustrates a piece of the text from one of the tales. This image relates to the story of “Julnar the Sea-Born and her son King Badr Bassim of Persia”. The text from which the image was created is – “So I came forth of the Sea and sat down on the edge of an island in the moonshine…”
